The Public Square: Centralized Edition

Twitter’s code was made open source recently. Since that happened, developers have been digging into the code, and they are finding some interesting stuff.

One piece of interest is the government’s backdoor into Twitter:

Twitter’s open source code reveals US government can ‘intervene’ with recommendation algorithm

“When needed, the government can intervene with the Twitter algorithm.”

On Friday, Twitter released the recommendation algorithm portion of its code by publishing it on GitHub, where developers post open source software data. Developer Steven Tey dug into the code and found that there is a mechanism through which the US government can “intervene” with the code.

“When needed, the government can intervene with the Twitter algorithm,” Tey wrote. “In fact, @TwitterEng (Twitter Engineering) even has a class for it – ‘GovernmentRequested.'”

[…]

The algorithm gives a boost to Twitter Blue subscribers. Twitter also categorizes four user groups, “power users,” “Democrat users,” “Republican users,” and “@elonmusk to “track and compare” the frequency of tweet impressions on other users.

[…]

Tey identified factors that impact whether or not a user will make the “For You” recommendation and some factors that could have a negative impact on one’s “reputation score” such as getting blocked or muted.”

[…]

Tey’s discovery of the “GovernmentRequested’ intervention option in the code follows revelations from the Twitter files, a series of reports detailing internal discussions at Twitter under its previous management.

The files detailed the company’s censorship efforts and collusion with government agencies towards those goals. One batch of the files by Michael Shellenberger showed that there were many former FBI agents on staff at Twitter while then-FBI Supervisory Special Agent Elvis Chan served as the lead operative in requesting Twitter censor many stories, including those around Hunter Biden’s “laptop from hell.”

Another batch of the files showed that federal agencies, including the FBI and Department of Homeland Security, partnered with contractors to “pressure Twitter to moderate content” and would use information portals to send constant information to Twitter on what accounts to restrict.

Here is a direct link to the Twitter code demonstrating the GovernmentRequested piece mentioned above.

This story aligns with what we learned from the Twitter files. More of the same.

Further proof that the state and the isolated class are merging with the politburo at the head.

Those who think Musk will fix this are naïve. The censorship has only increased under him (everyone is still banned), and now the entire platform is prone to private billionaire management.

Plus, the guy is a Satanist. Maybe one day we will stop worshipping moronic merchant billionaires, but it does not appear that the day is coming anytime soon. (If you want to see how this cult worship of merchants relates to the cycle of political collapse, read this: Who The Nation Admires).

But the above is not the only news from the Twitter code. We’ve also found some other interesting things, such as:

Twitter’s Secret VIP List Is Getting Preferential Treatment: Report

The list of favored Twitter users includes LeBron James, AOC, Ben Shapiro, President Joe Biden, and Musk himself, Platformer reports

[…]

The move is “about treating everyone equally,” Twitter CEO Elon Musk tweeted to William Shatner on Sunday. Musk added, “There shouldn’t be a different standard for celebrities imo.” Yet despite his egalitarian approach to social media, Twitter accounts owned by celebrities may be getting preferential treatment, according to a Platformer report published Monday.

According to documents obtained by Platformer, Twitter maintains and monitors a list of “around 35 VIP users.” This list, per the report, offers increased visibility on the platform and includes journalists, celebrities, and Musk himself. LeBron James, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Daily Wire founder Ben Shapiro, President Joe Biden, YouTube personality MrBeast, and journalists Matt Yglesias, Glenn Greenwald, Noah Smith, and Adrian Wojnarowski were among the names on the list.

So, the Musk fan club and a few select fake-enemies.

But particularly of importance is this one:

  • Daily Wire founder Ben Shapiro

This guy not only avoids bans, but is actively boosted everywhere. That should tell you everything you need to know.

In my article Ben Shapiro: The Neocon Gatekeeper, I said:

All the real conservatives (that actually want to conserve our people) have been banned from Facebook.

Meanwhile, Ben Shapiro and his types are not only found on every social media with no risk of banning, but are popular and promoted. He even hangs out with Zuckerberg. That should raise eyebrows from anyone with a brain.

There is a reason he is allowed to remain, whereas even softies like Alex Jones are annihilated.

When one thinks of a “gatekeeper”, it’s hard to not immediately imagine Shapiro. He is boosted so other content is not found. The Daily Wire is designed to have a wide net, to catch people before they find the full truth.

[…]

It’s sad, but most grey mass types think of Shapiro as some type of hero. Go look at the comments under any of his posts and you’ll see thousands calling for him to president—God forbid.

But, it is where we are as a country. We hail the guy that pushes the myocarditis jab, supports replacement immigration, is more proud of being an Israeli than an American, proudly declares that the 2020 election was completely “fair”, hates Christ, tolerates LGBT, and pushes the “judeo-Christian” subversive lie as a true red-and-blue-bleeding “conservative”.

With these people as our supposed “allies”, who even needs enemies?

Which rings even more true now. Out of everyone on Twitter, Shapiro is one of the lucky 35. Suspicious, is it not?

When, oh when, will our people stop falling for the oppositional metric? None of these people are our allies. Stop supporting them. And stop supporting openly centralized entities like Twitter.

Twitter was once regarded as a component of the town square, alongside Facebook, Instagram, and similar social medias.

But now it would not be accurate to call it the public square, considering it is owned by a billionaire, still enforces government requests, and boosts the personal interests of the owner. Oh, and that billionaire is a foreigner (South African) who exploited government subsidies to get rich. Lovely combination.

Like everything in shopping mall America, the public square has been sold. It’s the private square now, and you only get a microphone if you pay $8 a month and don’t step out of the narrow lines. Otherwise, you will be erased.

Welcome to America, home of free speech.
