Federal Covid Emergency Protocols Set To End On May 11

Well, it is official:

President Biden to end COVID-19 emergencies on May 11

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Joe Biden informed Congress on Monday that he will end the twin national emergencies for addressing COVID-19 on May 11, as most of the world has returned closer to normalcy nearly three years after they were first declared.

The move to end the national emergency and public health emergency declarations would formally restructure the federal coronavirus response to treat the virus as an endemic threat to public health that can be managed through agencies’ normal authorities.

This includes the following:

Biden Administration to End Many COVID-19 Vaccine Requirements Next Week

The Biden administration on Monday announced that it will end its COVID-19 vaccine requirements for federal workers, federal contractors and international air travelers next week.

The mandates will end May 11, the same day the COVID-19 public health emergency declaration is set to expire.

[…]

The Biden administration will also begin the process to end coronavirus vaccine requirements for “Head Start educators, CMS-certified healthcare facilities, and certain noncitizens at the land border.” Additional details on the process will be available in the coming days, according to the White House.

Additionally, the Department of Homeland Security on Monday said it would end its Title 19 travel restrictions on May 12. The agency will “no longer require non-U.S. travelers entering the United States via land ports of entry and ferry terminals to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and provide related proof of vaccination upon request.

I wrote about the CMS mandate in particular: Revelation From The CMS Covid Vax Mandate. That one was particularly brutal, and idiotic, considering that the supreme court shut down the private industry mandates but let the healthcare sector one remain. Burn the healthcare providers while saving government and private industry, I suppose.

Either way, May 11 is coming this week. So they will all be gone.

A day for celebration? Or a day to mock and shame the covidians?

The choice is yours.

  1. Looks like Japan decided to drop the whole scam at the same time as the US.
Not surprising considering we’re technically the 51st state of the USA anyway.
All the plastic at registers is gone, but masks aren’t among most people, the only change in that is that more younger males and older females are willing to take it off.
But then again, masks have become more like a fashion since 2021, and exactly the 2 demographics who stopped wearing those are the ones who care the least about fashion

However, when looking up at border restrictions, USA still doesn’t let unjabbed individuals in, is that true?
Over here they dropped all border restrictions since the 29th of April, so exactly on the first day of Golden Week.
1 week earlier than initially promised, but still 3 years, and 1 month later than necessary.

    • That is insane. Japan at exactly the same time? You cannot tell me that is not coordinated. Always love hearing your side from things over in Japan, it is maddening how interconnected they both are.

We have also dropped border restrictions just recently. Seems like we are truly in “lockstep”.

  2. (Since I can’t edit my comment.)
I know the article mentions in the case of air or sea travel, which I think others already pointed out has been lifted a long time ago already.
But I meant specifically air travel.
