Evil Fears The Truth: On Censorship

The Cato Institution finally published a decent study for once:

A new Cato national survey finds that self‐​censorship is on the rise in the United States. Nearly two-thirds—62%—of Americans say the political climate these days prevents them from saying things they believe because others might find them offensive. The share of Americans who self‐​censor has risen several points since 2017 when 58% of Americans agreed with this statement.

These fears cross partisan lines. Majorities of Democrats (52%), independents (59%) and Republicans (77%) all agree they have political opinions they are afraid to share.

With a truly stunning note from the McCarthyites that no one could have ever predicted:

Liberals Are Divided on Political Expression

Strong liberals stand out, however, as the only political group who feel they can express themselves. Nearly 6 in 10 (58%) of staunch liberals feel they can say what they believe.

And on firing of the donors:

50% of Strong Liberals Support Firing Trump Donors; 36% of Strong Conservatives Support Firing Biden Donors

…

Nearly a quarter (22%) of Americans would support firing a business executive who personally donates to Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden’s campaign. Even more, 31% support firing a business executive who donates to Donald Trump’s re‐​election campaign.

We need to beef those numbers up, those are rookie numbers. It’s a war. It’s not won until 100% of strong conservatives support firing Biden donors. No country for communists.

They want to destroy us. There is no compromise with a group that seeks nothing but abject subjugation. We win or they do. The sooner our side realizes this, the sooner we can actually start fighting back.

Finally, the study’s notes on potential loss of employment:

32% Worry Their Political Views Could Harm Their Employment

Nearly a third (32%) of employed Americans say they personally are worried about missing out on career opportunities or losing their job if their political opinions became known. These results are particularly notable given that most personal campaign contributions to political candidates are public knowledge and can easily be found online.

The remaining 68% are obviously “staunch liberals”. Or apathetic/non-attentive in the course of politics.

Everyone that knows what is happening fears about their employment. That’s why we need backup plans, alternative income sources, and a parallel economy for right-wingers. That, or we keep getting booted straight to homelessness.

It’s readily apparent to anyone that isn’t a deranged leftist that this has been the case, and the goal, since the inception of the modern radical leftist movement.

They use fear to silence those who oppose them. Because they know that their positions are evil. And evil fears the truth more than anything else.

The only way they can sell their evil is if everyone is too afraid to speak out against it.

Speak out. It matters.
