I stumbled upon a list of 50 years of failed doomsday prophecies:

And yet we continue to trust these very same “experts”.
If someone came to you and said they were a prophet and then failed to deliver on every single one of their prophecies over fifty years and thousands of specific instances, would you still believe them? Or would you realize you were in a cult?
The cult description is not unwarranted: They rule by fear and faith. There is an angry “god”-type entity (mother earth) and they blindly have faith in whatever the experts say, even if they’re wrong 50 times in one article.
Covid has demonstrated that people must have faith in something. If not God, then in something else. And when covid is no longer around as the boogyman, climate change will be happily waiting as the next return-to fear porn for the Branch Covidians.
If we’re not all dying from covid, then we’re all certainly going to die from the temperature going up by 1 degree over 160ish years:
Global surface temperature was 1.09 [0.95 to 1.20] °C higher in 2011– 2020 than 1850–1900, with larger increases over land (1.59 [1.34 to 1.83] °C) than over the ocean (0.88 [0.68 to 1.01] °C). The estimated increase in global surface temperature since AR5 is principally due to further warming since 2003–2012 (+0.19 [0.16 to 0.22] °C). Additionally, methodological advances and new datasets contributed approximately 0.1ºC to the updated estimate of warming in AR6
The IPCC – The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) is the United Nations body for assessing the science related to climate change.
But don’t mind me. Please continue to live in fear of the next “expert” analysis of when we’re all going to die because of climate change.
And as you pass by the crazy person on the side of the road yelling about the apocalypse coming next Tuesday, you should also likely listen to him. To be fair, he probably hasn’t been wrong as many times as these guys.
