Candace Owens: No Longer Chained To The Daily Wire
I’m sure many of you have heard of Candace Owens. But for those of you maybe only know a little, here is a brief summary: Candace was an upstart conservative talking-head that has a very long and rather odd history. She started out as the token black girl in the Conservative Inc movement, moving around with all the other narrative-controlling gatekeepers and talking heads like Dennis Prager, Jordan Peterson, and Andrew Klavan.
Getting into that field is pretty easy as a black woman. It also helped that she was young. Given all of this, she became an outspoken young token black girl that could tell all the old conservative White men nice things about their beliefs to make them feel good about themselves.
She did just that… and became a millionaire off of it.
Like many black conservatives, she ends up just being a memento piece to “prove” that leftists are the real racists and that conservatives can’t possibly be racist because they know a black person. This effect damages conservatism because it solidly puts them into the leftist’s moral framework, but whatever, that’s not important right now.
Still, this effect ends up happening naturally, whether or not Candace wanted it. It became her golden rocketship to riches and fame.
Later on, she attached herself to The Daily Wire, Ben Shapiro’s outlet. She signed a deal with the devil himself.
I already had my reservations about her from prior Conservative Inc stuff like PragerU, but this really made me lose all credibility for her. The Daily Wire signup was irredeemable. A snake among snakes.
But I am often the first to admit when I could possibly be wrong. And this belief surrounding her may be one such instance. Especially given what she talks about now, and how vocal she is now that The Daily Wire has kicked her to the curb.
Just look at some of these recent messages:
These are not the words of a gatekeeper, or a Con, Inc participant.
Heck, this is something I would write.
I never thought I’d see the day that it was coming from somebody that used to be so into the Con that they literally worked for The Daily Wire. What a crazy time to be alive.
Candace seems to have a very hard split from The Daily Wire. I don’t know if working there broke her, or if she was just buying her time working up the ladder of Con, Inc until she had a bigger microphone.
But either way, I’m not complaining. Let’s take the W while we can.
Here is to hoping that she keeps going. Her microphone reaches a lot of Normies. And regardless of where she is truly at ideologically, this entire debacle is a very good thing for us.
I was not expecting it, but I’ll take it.
What a weird time to be a dissident.
